Learn about birds and nature, with lecture meetings featuring guest speakers and slide presentations (Location: Cylburn Arboretum and online)

Keep informed with Chip Notes, a quarterly newsletter sent by email to members, and a monthly e-newsletter featuring upcoming meetings, field trips, and other events

Make a difference in conservation and preservation through activities of the Club’s Conservation Committee

Participate in citizen-science programs such as Christmas Bird Counts, fall and spring bird censuses, and other projects

And, when you join the Baltimore Bird Club, you will automatically become a member of the statewide Maryland Ornithological Society (MOS), of which Baltimore Bird Club is one of 15 chapters. You’ll be a part of a statewide network of over 2,000 birders.

Socialize with birders from across the state at the annual 3-day statewide convention with guided field trips, scientific research posters, keynote speakers, and more

Connect with statewide activities through the quarterly newsletter, the Maryland Yellowthroat, and an online calendar of field trips and other events

Learn about places to go birding through the MOS Birder’s Guide to MD and DC

Learn about research on birds in Maryland through the MOS scientific journal, Maryland Birdlife, published twice a year and mailed to members or available online

Support bird research and environmental education, through the statewide Maryland Ornithological Society grants programs

Visit and help preserve a statewide network of bird sanctuaries owned by the Maryland Ornithological Society. Two of the sanctuaries have houses open for overnights stays by MOS/BBC members, at a nominal fee.
